Silk Original Soy Beverage

Excellent product, just keep up the great work and flavour. Love that it's produced as organic and certified in Canada. This is my daily cup of milk. Thanks!

My family have been avid consumers of Silk soy milk (plain and vanilla) for many years but none of us like the awful new versions. I don't understand why you changed the taste - they were the best on the market. Please change it back - we miss our old Silk and nothing tastes as good without it. The "original" now has a nasty chemical taste and it seems to have vanilla added for some reason. Reading the other comments it seems we're not alone.

I'm very disappointed. No one in my family likes the new taste of Silk Original. The kids refuse to drink it. I am going to have to find another brand. Can anyone recommend another brand that tastes similar to the original recipe. I know Wal*Mart's brand tastes the same, but am not sure if it is made by Silk, in which case, it would have changed as well.

I have tried the omega version, as you suggested, but it is still not the same as the old "original" version. I have stopped buying Silk ever since you changed the recipe, and have stopped drinking soy milk altogether not so long after, as I was unable to find a brand that I like. How many more people will need to give bad comments before your team actually does something about the issue? We are just asking you to put back the old beverage so you do not lose a big chunk of your regular buyers...

What happened to the original recipe??? The new taste is bloody awful. I've switched back to my previous brand. Silk should just accept they made a mistake and return to the original taste. This situation just lacks all good sense.

We tested the new version thoroughly prior to launch and received strong results that the new taste was an improvement over our old recipe and versus competition. Since the launch of our new Plain, we have had a very positive response in the market. That being said, I am sorry to those of you who are not happy with the flavour changes. We value you as customers and would like to help you find another Silk product that meets your needs. I'd like to recommend our Silk Plus Omega 3 DHA product which has a taste very simliar to the previous recipe of Silk Plain. Also our Unsweetened does not have a sweet taste found in Vanilla or Plain that you may find appealing.

The new flavour of Silk Plain is AWFUL.
I tried for weeks to get used to it, and I can't.
Silk WAS the only good plain soymilk on the market, why did you have to change it?!
Please change it back.
The chalky-vanilla flavour is gross.
Silk Plain is now the same as your competitors'.
I will only purchase the chocolate flavour of Silk now.
Please DO NOT change the flavour of the chocolate.
I'm not looking to get money back; I want the flavour I love back.

Looking at the other posted comments, I don't think that it was a wise choice to change the flavour and anger and upset your loyal customers - especially when the health food community is such a small community, and we are the small percentage writing to tell you.

PLEASE CHANGE THE FLAVOUR BACK.

I also really dislike the new flavour of the Silk Plain soya milk. It does now tastes like vanilla and i dkslike vanilla. Please go back to the original formulation! You'll have to send me an email if you change the taste back though as I have stopped buying it. It unfortunately was a long process to find such a good tasting soya milk product which i will have to begin again.

This was my fave brand of soymilk but I really dislke the new flavor. It is much too sweet and tastes like vanilla. I need a neutral tasting milk for cooking and this flavor is too overpowering. I came to this website looking for the "taste guarantee" that is advertised on the carton....can't seem to find it though?

I like the fact that when i put it in coffee or tea it remains the same as milk other brands curddle and become un drinkable. The red carton was not out when I bought my silk products. but I find that silk is defenitenly more superior than other soy products. One problem I have had with other soy products is that they do not work well in instant puddings I have not tried this one yet hope to have good results if anyone out there has used it in intsant pudding I would like to know the results.

Silk was my very favourite soymilk and the only one I purchased, but I DO NOT like the new taste of the Original. It tastes like it has flavouring added and it is also a weird colour (I actually thought it had 'gone off' when I poured it into my glass.) It tastes like soy yoghurt, which is not something I look for in a milk. PLEASE change it back!

My household does not drink milk. We only drink silk soya "PLAIN". Now you added the flavor. Why? If we want a flavored soya, then you already have Vanilla soya silk. We use plain soya for everything. Plain soya is best suited for everything. We don't like this new taste at all and if you won't change it back to its plain taste, we will not have any other choice but to change the brand because with this new flavor, everything that we add to, changes the whole taste of my cereal, tea, special types of rotis, muffin etc.

Great taste guarantee? The carton says "Learn about our great taste guarantee: DrinkSilk.ca". So where is it? Did it disappear because they realized their guarantee is flawed? I certainly hope so, because seeing the comments on this page has made it obvious that most of us loyal Silk drinkers dislike the new flavor. Please bring back the old recipe!!!

Please fix whatever has happened with the tase of the orginal flavour. I have been drinking this for years and the new taste is awful. It's very frustrating when I finally found a soya beverage I enjoyed and then it changes. At least make the original red carton recipe available. - Karen

Please put the Plain silk recipe back to how it was. The new taste makes my tea taste funny and not enjoyable at all.

I have been purchasing Plain Silk for 7 years and enjoyed the flavour over all other Soy Milk brands until now. Unfortunately, the label stating that 'you're guaranteed to love the new taste' is a disappointment. I'm sure it's the cane juice that has been added into the milk.....echoing many other people's comments....please bring back the original Plain Silk!!!!

I love Silk Plain....or should i say LOVED it, i am unhappy with the new taste, please bring back the original taste..it's the one soy milk brand that i truly enjoy, i would hate to have to look for another brand!!

This used to be the only soymilk I would drink. I dislike the new taste. I find it artificial tasting, and it overwhelms the taste of tea and other foods.
I'm going to try the unsweetened, and if that doesn't work, I will have to look for a new brand.

After trying other brands I had found that Silk was the more consistent in flavour, taste and consistency. My 3 children and I have been drinking Silk for many years. For the past year, my five year had demanded his Silk and the sports section first thing in the morning. Now that you have changed the flavour he won't drink it. My other kids think it tastes like cream soda, who likes that everyday? I don't think that I will be able to use it in my cooking anymore as there is too much of a weird taste to it. I hope you go back to the original. Or let us know how to achieve the same flavour as original from the Natural Silk

I've bought Original Silk for years now - it's long been the only soy milk that tasted good. Unfortunately it has changed. Now there's an almondy taste that is changing the flavor of my cereal and my coffee. I'm afraid to try it in mashed potatoes. Now I'm left searching for a new favorite. I don't think I'll be buying Silk as often any more, if at all.

What a shock that first taste of your new plain Silk was! Why oh why did you change plain Silk's flavour??? It now tastes like vanilla! Please save the favourings for your 'flavoured' versions. And please bring back the old plain Silk ASAP!!! That's the opinion of four out of four Silk drinkers at our house. Hope to hear soon that you've seen the error of your ways and are changing back!

My daughter who is severely allergic to dairy has been drinking plain silk milk for three years, she is four years old. Since changing your recipe she will not drink it, she says "it tastes like the blue soy milk" (the vanilla soy milk). I am wondering why the change? I am also worried we will have to switch brands to find another soy milk she likes as it is her main source of calcium. We have always purchased Silk because it is certified organic and so many other brands are full of artificial ingredients.

I really enjoyed the original flavour of Silk Plain. I am disappointed that you have changed the flavour. It now leaves an unpleasant after taste when I put it in my coffee.

patsy to bad you have lost your taste buds, I work for metro foods have just started drinking it , want to stay away from dairy as much as possible , hope you may come up with some kind of yogurt sub that would be great
