In 1996, Silk set out not just to make a difference in people’s eating habits - but to make a difference in the world. Today, that commitment is still going strong.

Energy

We were among the first North American brands to champion renewable energy, and today we offset all of the electricity used to make our products with clean, renewable wind power. Learn more…

Organic

By purchasing organic soybeans, Silk helps create a cleaner, healthier environment for all of us. We’re also pleased to support sustainable agriculture groups like The Organic Center and the Organic Farming Research Foundation.

Agriculture

Silk supports farming communities by purchasing all of its soybeans and almonds right here in North America. We’ve also sponsored Farm Aid® since 2003, and are proud to join in Farm Aid’s mission to keep family farmers on their land.

Global Nutrition

Silk is a longtime sponsor of the World Soy Foundation (WSF), promoting the use of soy to help undernourished populations around the world. A non-profit charitable group, WSF is dedicated to providing sustainable nutrition for all.

Local Community

Silk’s parent company, WhiteWave Foods, is a leading corporate sponsor of our local Community Food Share. WhiteWave Foods also promotes a vigorous Values in Action program at its corporate headquarters and business locations throughout North America, encouraging employees to make a difference in their communities through volunteer service and environmental action.

We’re Green at Home!

Silk purchases wind energy credits to offset the electricity used in our corporate offices. Since August of 2006, we’ve followed a rigorous Zero Waste recycling program on-site as well. Recycling and composting stations throughout our buildings make it easy for us to take care of the planet while we take care of business.
